Has it really been since May?
It can't be.
It's October already, we're on Daylight Savings time here for goodness sake!
I'm sure no one reads this, but for my own sanity and mental verbosity, I do like to keep up.
So, what's new?
My life continues to be SO much bigger since visting the amazing city that is New York.
Alicia & JZ are right, the streets WILL make you feel brand new, big lights (seredipidous experiences & great people) will inspire you.
Well they certainly did me.
What's new with you?

Inspiration
I've been thinking about this topic a lot lately.
And apparently here it is, at 4am.
I haven't blogged in a month.
I've been busy; working on my business, talking care of my family and myself, rearranging the family budget, planning a bathroom renovation, organising a 6th birthday party, catching up with friends & family, training my fabulous fitness clients, encouraging friends to join my on a fun-run for charity and walking with them to show them they could do it, learning to box, taking over-55's through an exercise class, (those ladies work hard!), and myriad other things that are going on in my life.
Almost every day I find myself inspired by someone else's story.
What is it about people living their lives with passion, determination and conviction that makes some of us think, "Oh, that makes me want to be better, to do better, to do something in my life I didn't think possible"?
And what is it that makes some of us think, "Oh no, I couldn't."?
There are a lot of people in this world living much tougher lives than me, working hard not because they love their jobs, but because they need to eat, taking care of really ill children, living with pain & disease, and with everything life throws at them, doing it with such grace, still finding the good in others, still finding the joy in life.
I can do that.
What can you do?

Chocolate Habits
Much of how we live our lives is the result of our habits and part of my job as a fitness trainer is to encourage people to swap habits that damage their bodies with new habits that support their health and fitness.
So it was a surprise to me that after three weeks away, I had changed some long-standing habits and have actually brought the changes home with me.
The biggest one has been getting up early, not really much of an achievement unless you're me.
Oh sure, I would get up early if I had to be somewhere, catch a plane or train a client, but I have never been a 'morning person' just for the sake of it.
Until now.
The other habit, that I may need to change back, is my new-found affection for confection; specifically chocolate.
I could take or leave chocolate before but since my intense schedule in New York, and needing to up my food intake, I had gotten used to pretty much eating what I wanted and even indulging in treats I normally wouldn't eat.
Someone I met in New York had asked, when hearing about my reason for being there, if I ate 900 calories a day, to which my friend who had seen me stuff my face all over town replied, "are you kidding? she eats about 900 calories an hour!"
Hilarious!
Seriously though, I do need to remember I am not working out two hours a day and that chocolate is not an everyday food.
What habits have you changed or would like to?

Adventures At Home
No matter where you go, there you are.
Life's adventures don't stop when you get off that plane and come home.
After almost 20 hours of traveling, it feels good to be home and strange at the same time; I've been on my own for three week, not having to be someone's Mummy, not having the mundane, everyday chores to do and my life has expanded in so many ways.
Reintegrating that experience back into my life is a process that will take some time.
So the adventure continues.
